I am a generalist clinician, which means I have training and expertise in working with a variety of presenting issues and mental health conditions (e.g., trauma, anxiety/stress, depression, academic and career concerns, disordered eating, relationship issues, and identity development). I have specialized expertise in the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I am a certified prolonged exposure (PE) therapist. PE is an empirically-supported and gold standard treatment for PTSD.
I am committed to providing compassionate and individually-tailored care that reflects the current state of scientific knowledge. I work from an integrated framework and utilize a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Attachment-based Psychotherapy. In addition to psychotherapy, I enjoy conducting career assessments and psychosocial evaluations for bariatric and gender confirmation surgeries.
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota, a top-ranked psychology training program. I completed my predoctoral internship at Hennepin County Medical Center. During my doctoral training, I obtained a solid foundation in psychotherapy and assessment at diverse clinical settings including hospitals, community clinics, private practice, and academic centers. As such, I have extensive experience working with a broad range of concerns and tailoring treatment to meet an individual’s unique needs and goals. In addition to my part-time clinical practice, I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Augsburg University, where I teach courses, conduct research, and advise undergraduate students.
